A: Dr. Doan Nguyen participates with most insurance carriers: BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, Medicare, Community Health Choice, Workers Comp, and more. Patients will be responsible for paying their co-payments and deductibles at the time of service.
Q: Do I need a referral to see Dr. Nguyen?
A: This depends on your insurance plan. PPO plans do not need a referral. HMO plans require referrals from your primary care physician before Dr. Doan Nguyen can see you.
Q: When should I consider a joint replacement?
A: If joint pain is severe enough to impact activities of daily living and all conservative treatments have been exhausted, a joint replacement will be necessary. Other factors include whether the patient's health enables them to undergo the procedure and whether there is sufficient bone and tendon to permit the surgery.
Q: How young should a person have a joint replacement?
A: This depends on how the implant used for the procedure ages and on how active the patient's lifestyle will be after the surgery. Dr. Nguyen is committed to offering the best treatment option for you.
Q: Is there any other option besides joint replacement?
A: Yes, Arthroscopic surgery for mild to moderate cases. It removes and cleans out the bad parts. However, the benefit is temporary for a few years.
